Apache Flink: An Introduction and Outlook into the Future
Apache Flink is a distributed, stateful stream processor. It features exactly-once state consistency, sophisticated event-time support, high throughput and low latency processing, and APIs at different levels of abstraction (Java, Scala, SQL). Flink powers some of the worlds largest streaming applications at Alibaba, Netflix or Uber and is deployed in production at many other companies.
In his talk Fabian Hueske will give an introduction to Apache Flink, its features and discusses the use cases it solves. Moreover, he'll explain why batch is just a special case of stream processing, how its community evolves Flink into a truly unified stream and batch processor and what this means for its users.
